Unlike current installations with internal discharge resistors that exhibit quality issues and performance shortcomings, our dedicated discharge coil provides the necessary technical security measures in parallel capacitor substations.

For ensuring the operational safety and reliability of shunt capacitors, we recommend using a single star connection capacitor bank. This configuration, now extensively adopted, involves directly paralleling each phase of the capacitor bank with its discharge coil. The secondary winding is open delta connected with protection relays to form an unbalanced voltage protection circuit, safeguarding the capacitor bank internally. In the event of a phase-specific component failure, the unbalance voltage protection mechanism promptly disconnects the faulty capacitor from the grid, aided by the high efficacy of the discharge coil to maintain optimal protection performance.

The integration of large capacitor collections or single capacitors primarily entails fault resolution through the original internal fuse. To maintain capacitor operation continuity, discharge coils equipped with intermediate taps assess point voltages across each phase.
